The ASURA workshops being held on Friday 20 and Monday 23 are now fully subscribed.  However there are still places available for the Scientific Programme being held at the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd November.  The keynote invited speakers are experts in the field of regional anaesthesia and ultrasound and include Prof Stuart Grant (USA), Prof Admir Hadzic (USA), A/Prof Manoj Karmakar (Hong Kong), A/Prof Colin McCartney (Canada), Dr Michael Fredrickson (New Zealand) and Dr Philippe Macaire (Dubai).

Call for Abstracts

The Organising Committee invites you to submit an abstract on any topic relating to the role of ultrasound imaging and regional anaesthesia. The Committee will assess all submitted abstracts and those accepted will be published in the meeting Abstract Book. Authors will be notified of the Committee's decision by 31 July 2009.


CLOSING DATE FOR SUBMISSIONS 30 JUNE 2009


ABSTRACT INSTRUCTIONS
• All abstracts must be submitted in MS Word.
• Photographs/images should be sent in Jpeg or Tiff format with refererence made to the position of the
figure in the abstract text (e.g. "positioned around the curve of the abdominal wall" [Figure 1] ).
• Include your title, full name, position and hospital/organisation (e.g. Dr Don Brown, Staff Specialist, The
Mater Hospital, Sydney).
• Authors should obtain written permission to reproduce written material and acknowledge the source(s).

POSTER PRESENTATIONS
• All poster presenters will have their abstract published in the ASURA Abstract Book.
• Selected presenters will be notified by 31 July 2009 if they have been accepted to present a 10 minute
poster presentation during the meeting. This includes a five minute summary followed by five minutes
of questions and discussion from observers and the adjudicators.
• Posters will be displayed throughout the meeting. Presenters will be expected to erect their posters by
7:30am sharp on Saturday 21 November.
• Posters are to be no more than A1.
• A prize and certificate will be awarded for the best poster presented at the meeting.


KEY DATES 2009
• 30 June: Abstract submissions close
• 31 July: Abstract notification
• 31 July: Poster notification
• 21 & 22 November: Poster presentations
• 22 November: Poster presentation prize announced
